There's a mental shift that's provided me with some clarity, particularly when things don't happen right away.

As we all know, the good things don't.

Validation is stubborn. It'll take its time.

So, positioning for that, putting yourself in the right mental state as you chip away is huge.

And the idea is every day you move forward.

It's not about the revolutionary life-altering change in the now.

It's about the continuous building up and positioning of oneself for an opportunity to come.

In other words, the monumental opportunity is out there.

It does exist, and you will inevitably cross paths with it,

the question is, will you have grown as a person?

Will your skills have been sufficiently developed?

Will your overall competency have been elevated enough

so that you're ready to receive it when you do.

That's the thing about opportunities.

They only matter if we put ourselves in position to receive them.

And part of what motivates me every day is the fact that I'm chipping away

at those opportunities to come,

at some point in the future.

Opportunities I can't even understand or fathom

in the moment.

But the reason I'll be able to capitalize on them

is because of today's groundwork.
