Oh hello there and happy holidays! If you're like me or mailbox and inbox of beginning

to fill with the obligatory year and updates from family and friends. Exotic vacations,

fulfilling careers, the accomplishments of so many perfect children. Ah, it is the season.

And so you've sent us some of your favourite holiday newsletters so that we might have some

festive fun. Names and locations have been changed, of course. Because if there's one

thing I've learned in all my years, it's that there's always room to read between the lines.

And chances are, it's a wonderful lie.

Hello everyone and welcome back to It's a Wonderful Lie. It is the most wonderful season.

I'm Ashley Flowers joined by Holly Loren. And Greg Hess.

And you guys, so last year I think everyone learned a lot about you. I should probably start

this season telling everyone your marry that was like a big thing I hid last year until

like the end of the season. They just know each other really well.

They're really well. I really buried the lead there. But this year I have some great letters

that were sent in. And the one that I want to start with actually involves a little bit of

vino. And it made me start to think at least about how I grew up. Did you guys have,

you know, when you got everyone together for the holidays? Is wine flowing? Is the beer flowing?

Or is it like a super dry event? Well, for me, the wine was flowing. It wasn't super

boozy, but we did have one neighbour, Dwayne, who would show up with his homemade eggnog,

which I have to tell you could start a lawnmower. And it was always one of those things.

Where no one I don't think anyone really likes eggnog, but you drink it at the holidays. And

this stuff was gnarly. And anybody who was dipping in the eggnog definitely was walking a little

crooked afterwards. I don't think I've ever had eggnog. It just doesn't look appealing. Have
