| 0:38.0 | Perhaps you heard recently, I had a few nights stay at a local hospital, and I can tell you that I am feeling better. |
| 0:49.0 | But while I was in the hospital, I was thinking about, and feeling somewhat depressed over my condition. |
| 0:57.0 | I had blocked artery in my heart, and they, what they did is they get in there with a stint. |
| 1:03.0 | I kind of wrote a router that artery around the heart and opened it up so the heart can move. |
| 1:12.0 | Luckily, no damage. I'm feeling much better. |
| 1:15.0 | But I did feel depressed, and I have had bouts of depression, often on, you know, over periods of time. |
| 1:25.0 | And this is not uncommon, and today we're going to talk about and present information on depression and anxiety, and how much of our culture deals with this silently. |
| 1:39.0 | What does that mean? It means that we tough it out. We push through the problems. |
| 1:46.0 | If we're anxious, if we're nervous, it's just, you got to deal with it. |
| 1:52.0 | Not a lot of people will go to therapy. If you do go to therapy, that's the beginning. |
| 1:58.0 | And for some people, anxiety, depression is a lifestyle. They go through bouts of depression. |
| 2:07.0 | And some of depression is undiagnosed. I discovered that feeling blue is one thing, but feeling low over periods of time. |
| 2:16.0 | Can be diagnosed as depression. |
| 2:21.0 | And this is something that has to be resolved, or life gets difficult. |
| 2:28.0 | You know, you begin looking at everything very negatively, you're struggling constantly, and you have what they call low self-esteem. |
| 2:38.0 | So this is something that has to be addressed. And my guest today is presenting information on a therapy that's very, very good with depression, with all kinds of anxiety disorder. |
| 2:52.0 | It's called cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT. |
| 2:59.0 | Now, everybody has interest. I mean, everybody is different, and not all therapies work with everyone the same. |
| 3:06.0 | But I prefer working in a therapeutic setting where either you're working on yourself through meditation, through affirmations, through intentions, to release, to look at your problems, to understand why you're feeling the way you do. |
