Hey there, hi, there, and welcome to episode 339 of Connecting with Walt.

I am your host and is historian Michael Bowlingling and I am joined by my co-host,

producer and good friend Tom Bell. Tom, how are you today? I am well, Michael. How is your week

going? It's going well. We're only two days into it. Well, Sunday's three days, I guess.

I mean, weeks since we last talked.

Oh, okay. It's going well, busy as always, as I'm, you know, working.

It's supposed to be retired, Michael. I know. I'm, I'm just as busy now as I am, as I was retired.

So, you know, Tuesdays, before we we record, all that I work at the Folsom

City Zoo Sanctuary, I'm on the hoofstock team. So I'm learning to groom the donkeys and I have to

learn these knots, which I've never been good at knots. And so I'm getting better. I almost have them

now. So you have to use a halter knot. And it's hard for me to get it tight. And so I'm getting better. I almost have them now. So you have to use a halter knot.

And it's hard for me to get it tight. And then there's a knot where we just, you know,

attached them to the fence. So we groom them and all that. So I've passed the donkeys. But I,

now I've moved on today. I'm learning, I learned how to groom miniature

horse, which is pretty much the same as the donkeys, but they have different personalities.

But I saw, I'm not passed on the donkeys yet because I have to make sure they see me as the dominant person. So what they do is the donkeys are let loose and I have food and I have I'm there with food. And I have to keep them. I have to tell them not to eat the food. And they have to stop and listen to me.

And so until if they don't see me as being in charge,

then I don't pass.

So we shall see.
