Let's talk about maps.

An accurate map of New York City is completely useless.

I'll just make that statement that I think an accurate map of New York City is useless

and here's why.

An accurate map of New York City would have to be the exact same size as New York City,

to be accurate.

It couldn't be shrunken down.

It could be the same size as the place that it's mapping.

An accurate map would have to take every aspect of New York City into account.

It would have to take every blade of grass, every rat, every fire hydrant, every restaurant,

kitchen, every apartment, like every little bit of the city into account to be accurate.

If it's completely accurate, if it's a complete map, it's a complete accurate map.

At the point of it being accurate, it would just be reality.

It would just be the thing that it's trying to represent because it's so accurate, it

might as well be the thing.

It's useless.

The only reason a map is useful for New York City is if it doesn't represent New York accurately.

In fact, what it leaves off the map makes it valuable to us and we have different maps

for different purposes.

We have navigational maps.
