All right, guys, we've got a special guest on the podcast today. His name is Derwin Gray. He is technically a return guest because he came on during Saturated. So if you guys remember back at last September, at Church 1122, he was one of the speakers that saturated. And so he would speak. And then we'd all go in the studio together with Jobi, and then we would record, so he's been on the show before,

but this conversation was just him and I. So he is a pastor, author, and former NFL player,

so he is the founder and lead pastor of Transformation Church in Indian Land, South Carolina.

He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts and played for them from 1993 to 1997, and he played 1998 with the Carolina Panthers.

So he's authored several books.

I think he's authored eight books up to this point, but now he has a ninth book out, and that is called Lit Up with Love, becoming good news people to a gospel-starved world.

And so we started out the conversation, and he made a comment about anointing. And so we

got into this flowy conversation about anointing. So we didn't really get into my questions for

about 10 minutes or so. But he had a really rough upbringing, guys. And so that's what we spent

some time talking about is how can a guy go from that rough upbringing to have any level of success

or something like that. And so we talked about how football became an escape, how he had

a couple of coaches. And again, I apologize for this dog. Like, again, Roman the Giant would always

just sit here and be quiet, but now I've got this little Maltese that decides he wants to make

noise, but only when I'm recording. So apologize for that. But he's got these coaches and these coaches

are investing in him and they're inviting him. What was a quote that I wrote down?

They invited him to step into the challenge, right? To step into the challenge of being an elite football player, but being a great man as well.

And then we talked about how it was actually a naked guy that helped lead him to Christ.

So you're going to have to listen to the interview, obviously, to get that story. But then we go in and we talk about his ministry, we talk about lit up with love. And we just talk a lot
