Hello and welcome to Sociology 101.

Today we're going to talk about how Calvinism can lead to atheism.

Now, I don't want to be unfair to my Calvinistic friends by suggesting that, you know, Calvinism

uniquely causes atheism.

Obviously, that's not the case.

There are people who come from a traditional background that end up leaving the faith or becoming atheism. Obviously, that's not the case. There are people who come from a traditional

background that end up leaving the faith or becoming atheistic, if you will. And just like when

you got accusations about, you know, Calvinism leading to, you know, becoming anti-evangelistic.

I, you know, personally know a lot of people who are not very evangelistic from our tradition

sociologically. And so I don't want to be unfair by trying to suggest that Calvinism automatically

will lead people to atheism. That's not my goal here. My goal instead is to say that if

Calvinism is false, which we believe that it is, and people are stating Calvinistic

interpretations as reasons for their abandonment of Christianity altogether, then I think that's worth

looking at and helping people to understand why that's the significant thing for apologists,

especially, because I've even played clips, many of you've heard of John Piper. There was another one of the Guillaume Bing Yong,

the French theologian that recently wrote a book about Calvinism, where they both make statements

like, well, you know, I would rather you believe in libertarian free will and still become a Christian

than to leave behind
