Derek Jeter just stepped off the podium like an hour ago.

Before we get into it, just want to read you the Hall of Fame plaque,

because that was obviously released today for the first time to the public.

Derek Sanderson Jeter, the captain, New York, American League

1995 to 2014, heartbeat of a Yankees dynasty. Defined a two-decade run of Bronx

dominance that produced 17 postseason appearances, seven American League penance, and five

World Series championships, selected to 14 All-Star Games and named 1996 AL Rookie of the

Year. Winner of five Gold Glove Awards appearing in all his 2,674 games in the field at shortstop

totaled 200 more hits in eight seasons, retiring sixth all time with 3,465, scored 1923 runs with 100

or more in 13 seasons.

In a record, 158 postseason games, this is where it gets good.

Batted 308 with 111 runs, 200 hits, 32 doubles, and 20 homers.

Earned 2000 World Series most valuable player, Scott.

What did you think of the ceremony, the afternoon, the Jeter stuff, all of it?

So first of all, the afternoon was a long afternoon.

It didn't rain for the most part.

You could see the rain coming down when Jeter was up at the podium and he was giving his speech.
