Hello and welcome to the Price of Football Derby County, the show that looks at the money

University's Kiran McGuire Derby County. It's questions day Kiran but I thought we might

all be upfront about what's going to happen to now our only news story. Every week we

pussy foot about with Koi with the euphemisms our favourite team from the East Midlands

but it's Derby County Kiran essentially Derby County and we have issues with the timing

of the announcement about Derby County, do we not Kiran?

Well only in the sense that on Wednesday night I'd gone to bed, he had my admihaolics,

red setma prayers, do all the normal stuff, bless the spreadsheet and 1131 the EFL put out

a press release and then sort of 10 minutes later my phone starts pinging with messages.

So the Baroness grabs the phone just to check that it's not from a Moscow address and

she says something's happened with Derby County and I'm going, no. So yeah, what has happened

is that the EFL have been successful in the sort of, there's an independent panel which

have been reviewing Derby County's accounts and they've come to the conclusion and we're

on an even more favourite topic of yours than Derby County. They have decided that Derby

County's amortisation policy has not been applied properly according to the rules which

is what I said to the EFL over three years ago so I'm going, well okay, yeah, I'm not

surprised about this. So Derby County have been given a £100,000 fine by the independent

panel and they've been asked to resubmit their accounts and the EFL's announcement also

made reference to a fairly fluid fixed list interchangeable fixed list with Wiccom wanders

and the first reaction is hold on, Derby have been given a £100,000 fine so why should

this impact upon the standings for next season but it's fairly clear that Derby have to resubmit
