Thanks for joining us on the tightrope, where we engage in a love and justice-infused dialogue on increasingly tougher and tougher issues. I'm Tricia Rose, and I'm here with my dear friend, brilliant colleague and freedom fighter, Dr. Cornell West. Hey, Cornell, how you feeling today? I'm telling you. I'm fortified.

Always a blessed being in conversation with you. And we're going to have a dialogue with a special

brother today as well. Indeed. Indeed. Indeed. Yep. We've always, we got a heck of a laundry list of

amazing people to talk with. And we have so much to talk about. I mean, if anyone thought we could

run out of democratic social justice oriented topics, they weren't in 2020, 2021. They were

apparently missing in action. I mean, what do we have going on now? We've got, you know,

so many circumstances that need social movements, that need

visionaries, that need a challenge from the ground. I mean, what, what do you think is going to be

the most important thing that we need in supply in 2021 to make it through all the things we've already,

you know, had to deal with? Yeah, ooh, that's so true. It's so true. But there's a sense in which, you know, had to deal with. Oh, that's so true.

It's so true.

But there's a sense in which, you know, this is probably the most fundamental blues moment

in the history of the American Empire in terms of having to come to wrestle with various kinds of catastrophe.
