During the aftermath of the Depp v. Heard trial, there has been a lot of conversation, mostly from team Heard, about the UK case. It’s been said by both Amber Heard and her counsel that the UK case should have prevented the Virginia case from being brought to trial. Since I haven’t fully broken down the ruling in the Virginia case as to why the UK case wasn’t binding, and since I think we will keep hearing about this ruling, it’s time to break it down. If you are interested in the UK ruling check out that episode of The Emily Show.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome back to this week's episode of the Emily Show. We are once again, |
| 0:05.1 | hopefully finally, probably not. Talking about the Johnny Deppin Amber herd defamation case. Why? |
| 0:12.7 | Because I really thought that it was time to go through why the UK case did not come in to the |
| 0:22.2 | Virginia case, why it was not binding, why it was the jury was not told about the results in the UK |
| 0:29.5 | case, why it is so ridiculous that Amber herd and her team keep talking about this as if it's |
| 0:37.1 | a big serve. And because I really think that once we see them file for appeal, which they have |
| 0:44.4 | 30 days after the entry of the verdict, the verdict should be entered on June 24th. But I'm |
| 0:49.0 | recording this before that happens due to a family trip that we are taking. So they have 30 days |
| 0:55.6 | after that is entered. So we aren't going to see it just yet. But this is going to keep coming up. |
| 1:03.8 | And I feel like we just need to break down the facts of why it was ruled this way, why it's not |
| 1:08.9 | an appealable issue, and why it's really not an issue at all. Like it's just legally |
| 1:18.0 | incomplete nothing burger. And that's what we're going to talk about today. What happened in the UK |
| 1:25.8 | and why it didn't come in in the Virginia court by going through the judges ruling in this with |
| 1:32.2 | a little more detail. And it's a great chance for us to talk about things like collateral |
| 1:37.1 | of stop all and privity and mutuality. And it's going to feel like we get very deep into the |
| 1:44.0 | longer dictionary in this one. So are you ready for some race? Judicata. Yes. Yes. All right. |
| 1:50.5 | We should just go. We should just get started because I'm hoping that this will be |
| 1:56.7 | Emily. Amy's last words. Uh-huh. Hey there. Welcome to the Emily show. I'm your host Emily |
| 2:02.4 | Debaker, badass lawyer, and everyone's favorite legal commentator breaking down the legal |
| 2:07.4 | shit in the news and pop culture stories. You want to talk about I've been a licensed attorney |
| 2:12.5 | for over 15 years. I'm a former prosecutor, and I'm a big fan of the Chrissy words. So let's break |
| 2:18.6 | it down. Huge thank you to today's sponsor, Manscape. It's summer weather. It's time to get |
