This is a national rememberance day here in Latvia, and in all the Baltic states. Today we remember the tens of thousands of people, sent to die in Siberia, either in the wilderness or in the GULAG's by the Soviet Union, because Stalin said so. But we, in the Baltics, are ancient peoples that have endured. And now it's our duty to help our friends in Ukraine endure. May this winter be short and merciful.
