Welcome back to part two private parts of me, Liv Bentley and my glorious guest this week, Dr Sam.

0:13.5

Cannam, have you ever had this incident where someone has tried to link anything back to dentist's work that actually was nothing to do with you?

0:19.4

You know, we were talking earlier about, like, sensitivity and teeth and stuff like that. After this kind of treatment,

0:25.4

it can be a bit sensitive and it can take time to settle, right? Because the body heals and all

0:29.8

that sort of stuff. But I think there is definitely a link between certain hormonal changes

0:36.1

and things like gum inflammation, sensitivity.

0:41.2

I haven't, this is not from a scientific perspective, but from my experience in the kind

0:45.4

of demographic of people that I see, it's definitely people who might be going through

0:50.0

hormonal changes, like middle-aged women, etc., who do suffer more from the gum inflammation

0:56.8

and stuff like that, the sensitivities.

0:59.2

You know, it could be before or after treatment, like whenever it goes.

1:02.1

I mean, it's nothing permanent.

1:05.2

But I do think that that does play a part.

1:07.4

And I think it's to do with inflammation in the body.

1:09.6

Really?

1:47.1

More so, do you notice anything similar with men at the same age? Not as much. It's always the way, isn't it? Like, women do just have it slightly harder, but I wonder that is interesting. I think it's inflammatory stuff, definitely. And I see it. We say, I've been asked to comment on quite a lot of menopause stuff. And I always, I always say, look, I don't, I'm not an expert. But what I have noticed is definitely a certain group of the population, middle-aged women who might be going through that, definitely experience things that are unexpected. You wouldn't expect to have gum inflammation. You wouldn't expect to have sensitivity. And it can just take a little bit longer to heal up. It's interesting. Yeah.

1:53.0

Isn't it? It's all linked. I get sucked in sometimes to watching reels, doom scrolling. And I've

2:00.4

come across a few different things where people have had some sort of acal pain in a body part. And it says, go to the dentist and get this tooth removed. Is that a little, Nat's looking, have you never heard this? I'm pretty sure I had an aunt, I don't know if this is true or not, who had really bad arthritis or something happened. And they, get rid of that tooth or there's something wrong with that tooth, and then the pain went.

2:20.4

It probably wasn't an aunt, it's probably a family friend, it was probably pissed.

2:22.9

But is that actually a legit thing? Like, how much connection is there from your teeth to the rest of your body? I mean, there's a lot of, there's a lot of stuff that is not, like, there's no studies on it and stuff, right?

2:32.3

So alternative maybe theories.

2:35.8

If it works, then that's good.
