That's a recent campaign ad from Gabe Vazquez.

He's running for Congress this year in New Mexico.

Gabe's attacking his Republican opponent for not supporting abortion rights.

That's something Democrats nationwide have leaned on hard this election cycle.

I will always protect the woman's right to choose.

I'm Gabe Boskis, and that's why I approve this message.

But Gabe is Latino.

I'm not scared to talk about abortion.

I'm not scared to bring that up as an issue that's been incredibly important in this district.

Supporting abortion rights was long considered a third rail for Latino candidates,

and really anyone seeking to court the Latino vote.

But the overturning of Roe v. Wade this summer

offered Democrats a new playbook for the midterms

at a time where Latinos are reconsidering their loyalty to them.
