struggled with honesty rose from the House of Representatives to the United States Senate to two

terms as vice president before being elected to two terms

as president of the United States. And in the second year, of his second term as president,

his entire life turned on the question that came to frame his presidency for history.

As investigative reporters, Woodward and Bernstein, followed by congressional investigations

and criminal investigations closed in on what turned out to be the criminal corruption of Republican

President Richard Nixon. In the second year of his second term,
