It's been a while since we've been on the pod together.

It has been. I was going to say the same thing. Welcome to September, September 3rd today. And we are back in action. The House is in session in six days in the Senate as well next week. So what a world. It's exciting to get back to the, back to the grind as we are, I guess, 63 days until the election. Pretty crazy stuff. Well, there's

going to be no shortage of action this month. Let's get to the number one story of the morning talking about government funding and the

September 30th shutdown deadline.

As we scooped yesterday, Speaker Mike Johnson is planning to put a short-term funding bill

on the floor next week that keeps federal agencies open until March at fiscal responsibility act

levels minus the side deals worked out between Biden and former Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Also to nod to former President Donald Trump and the House Freedom Caucus Johnson

will attach the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship in order to register to vote in a federal election.
