Summary

Democrats must play hardball; the future of our republic is at risk. When your opponents are deeply corrupt, using the word corruption isn’t just a strategy, it’s an imperative.

In our Progressive Town Hall, Michigan Rep. Andy Levin discusses his EV Freedom Act, a key chunk of the Green New Deal that would create a nationwide network of electric vehicle chargers along the US highway system. EV Freedom Act is big, bold and progressive AND has the buy-in necessary to get it passed. President Biden campaigned on a virtually identical EV-platform and Ford has endorsed the bill, along with many environmental and labor groups.

word that Republicans used to use against Democrats.

0:55.0

I mean, when New Gingrich came to power, came to the U.S. Capitol in 1996, as I recall,

1:02.1

and became Speaker of the House, it wasn't when he came to the Capitol, but when he rose

1:07.3

to Speaker of the House, he did it based on the idea that the Clinton administration

was corrupt.

He was my congressman back then.

I lived in Georgia at the time, and we lived in Marietta, which was his district.

1:38.1

And for good reason, because when a party or when a politician is genuinely corrupt, when

1:45.0

corruption is a real word, is a real thing, that word can bring down not just governments,

1:53.2

but individual politicians, or maybe I should say not just individual politicians, but

1:56.8

governments, Alexi Navaly used the word corruption against Putin.
