Turns out there was a third song that Paul McCartney sang on Saturday Night Live, but it wasn't

immediately posted,

and I've just had a chance to listen to it.

The song was coming up,

and although he did it with great verve and energy,

I'd have to say that on that song,

his voice sounded about 15% thinner.

Obviously, he doesn't have the upper range that he used to.

But 15% thinner is not that bad.

And earlier in the show, when he sang band on the run, I thought he sounded terrific.

Now, remember, I have firsthand evidence in this, having seen McCartney in concert last year, tremendous voice, tremendous

energy, three-hour concert. And so I've been in the room where it happens. But I think what some

people are really reacting to is he looks old, which makes sense because he's 84.
