Democrats Formally File Impeachment For Inciting Insurrection, Give Pence Ultimatum To REMOVE Trump. In their ultimatum to Mike Pence they called on him to invoke the 25h amendment within 24 hours or they would move forward with impeachment.
Pence previously left Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer on hold for 25 minutes before refusing their call so it is expected that this effort will not succeed.
For an impeachment to reach conviction two thirds of the Senate must vote to convict which seems highly unlikely.
Democrats will likely be able to impeach Trump against but it seems to be mostly pointless at this time. Biden is expected to take office in only about a week and tensions are rising.
