Yesterday, Scotis handed Republicans a tremendous victory, gutting the Voting Rights Act.

This has the potential to give Republicans upwards of 30 new seats.

This means Democrats could theoretically lose 30 seats in Congress without an election.

Well, with an election, but the general idea is it's not

going to be based on whether people want a Democrat or Republican. Right now, it is estimated

there are 30 congressional seats based on race. And the Supreme Court said, you cannot make congressional

districts based on race. This is already triggering a wave of redistricting across

red states. And oh boy, our Democrats starting to freak out. Now, the interesting thing here and

the correction that I have for all of you is this battle over redistricting did not start with the Republicans.

And this is my bed.

It's my bed.

Because I had fallen victim to the mainstream narrative.

And I will blame conservatives for this.

I'm only half kidding and blaming conservatives.

The point is typically what we heard, even from people on the right, is that the Trump

administration had pushed for redistricting

in Texas mid-decade. The left ran with the story, the right ran with the story, and typically

what I was hearing, and many people were hearing, is that Democrats were gerrymandering their

states well before Republicans did. So even if Republicans redistricted in mid-decade, they were only doing it in

response to what Democrats have already done. But alas, some clever individuals in the Timcast discord

said, Tim, you are wrong. And I said, tell me how. And they said, take a look at this story from

Texas Tribune. And now we know what actually happened. In fact, we always did, but this one fell off my radar.
