And my co-host tonight is none other than Heather Robinson, a contributor for the New York Post.

We are coming on tonight to discuss

the White House Correspondence Dinner. Man, we didn't expect what happened happened. Actually,

didn't expect Trump to be there, but he decided earlier this month that he would be in attendance.

And what a night it was. But before we get into it,

Heather, how are you? I'm doing really well, Rob. I mean, I'm sorry about the assassination

attempt on our president, but personally, I'm fine. How are you? Heather, I'm great. You know,

I did not, well, it's kind of cliche to say I didn't

expect this. No one expected it because this was supposed to be a safe place, a safe night.

That the White House, the correspondence, the folks that cover the White House, they go, they get all dressed up,

they dine, they whine, and it's a bit of a roast. You know, they make fun of each other.

The president, the president makes fun of them. But what I thought was unusual before what

unfolded unfolded is that you had a lot of journalists who were coming out saying that it was unacceptable

that Trump was going to be given a platform to roast them.

And you had Jake Tapper to say he was going to go, but he had created some handkerchief

to put in his jacket saying that it's talking about the First Amendment and free the amendment. And I think that

was a theme of the White House correspondent's gender, the First Amendment, freedom of the press.

And so you had him talking out against it. You had Jim Acosta saying that the journalists that were

there when Trump got ready to speak and got ready to roast them,

that they should all walk out. You had April Ryan. She was another one who said that, you know,
