Donald Trump is going nuclear. He's saying it's time to end the filibuster to force the shutdown to an end,

thus reopening the government and restoring everyone's SNAP benefits. There's a judge saying that

they're going to force Trump to fund SNAP. There is money allotted in emergencies, but Trump has

said, no, we're not going to release this just because Democrats want illegal immigrants to get health care.

Democrats are arguing they're not illegal immigrants.

They entered illegally, but said the word asylum.

This is the option the Republicans always could have taken, ending the filibuster.

Here's how it works.

So basically, a filibuster is when you talk forever

in Congress so that nothing can move on. So we've seen very famous instances in the house

where a member of Congress, say like Thomas Massey, or we've seen Rand Paul Filibuster,

where they'll just talk for 10 plus hours, just talk and talk. And then everyone's sitting there

and then they leave.

It's a show, I don't know.

What happens in the Senate is they said, guys, instead of doing this, let's just make it that if you want a filibuster, you need 60 votes to get it through.

How about that?

And that way we don't got to deal with these issues.

It's a stupid rule, in my opinion.

Well, the filibuster rule says you need 60 votes, but this is fake.

At any point, the controlling party, 51 votes, can change the rules and eliminate the filibuster.

And they're saying, well, we shouldn't do that because then Democrats will, oh, shut up. It's the stupidest thing in the world. You got the majority. You make what you want happen, happen. Stop playing stupid games. They said, but if we get rid of the filibuster Democrats, when they get, Democrats get in power, You're going to prison. So shut up.

It's about time to win.
