Hello, everybody and welcome back to the damage fort.

I'm John, I had a roll up, still sick, a little bit better.

And so I've given myself the right to wear my comfy jacket.

You can't stop me by the time you got to the studio, the show's already done.

So I guess you're stuck with me.

But anyway, through the course of this hour, we are going to have a little bit of fun,

although the topics are fairly serious.

We're going to start off with an analysis of the war powers clause of the Constitution.

What was it intended to accomplish?

What does it mean in the modern era and what are the efforts going on right now to make

it mean actually something that has to do with American foreign policy?

So we're going to talk about that.

We've also got a documentarian who's going to join us in just a little bit.

Patrick Smith went around the country to look at the efforts of popular, populous movements

to sort of reinvigorate American democracy, fight back against gerrymandering and things

like that.

We've got congressional candidates going to be joining us a little bit later on.

And then we don't normally do too much coverage of endorsements in this democratic primary

process.

But over the past 24 hours, there were a number of big ones that came down.

And so we do want to give credit to the candidates for the endorsements that they've

gotten over the past day.
