0:12.8	Today, I talk with Charles Booker, who is running for the US Senate in the state of Kentucky.

0:20.4	We're just going to hop right in.
0:21.8	First question for you is to just tell us a bit more about yourself so we can learn
0:25.6	about who you are, but also what position you're running for.
0:28.8	I am a former state representative for the 43rd district in Kentucky, which is essentially
0:35.0	in Louisville.
0:36.0	It covers a lot of the West End, which is majority black and brown communities.
0:39.8	Louisville being one of the more segregated cities in the country.
0:43.8	And after working in every level of government, doing my best to cause good trouble, I am stepping
0:49.4	up now to bring change to Washington and to get rid of a very ridiculous politician.
0:55.0	That's an understatement in Rand Paul.
0:58.0	Yeah.
0:59.0	I am a lifelong Kentucky and my family goes back several generations here.
1:04.9	And I've mentioned in one of the earlier videos in the campaign that some of my ancestors
1:11.3	were enslaved in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
1:14.5	Some of them were lynched in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
1:16.6	And so to be the first black and Kentucky and to be a major party nominee for US Senate
