Everybody in America should be mad and angry about what we are witnessing right now in our country,

including the illegal and reckless attacks on science by Elon Musk and the Trump administration.

Stand up for science.

That was the rallying call at nationwide protest Friday to oppose the Trump administration's

sweeping cuts for scientific research and mass layoffs at the National Institutes of Health,

the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other agencies.

We'll hear excerpts from the Washington rally and to speak to one of the organizers.

Then ICE agents in New York have detained Mahmul Khalil, a leader of the Gaza'sarity encampment at Columbia University,

even though he has a green card and is a lawful permanent resident of the United States.

This encampment is a minor inconvenience compared to the generational shaping events taking place now in Gaza.

An emergency rally is being held today in New York to demand Mahmoud Khalil's release.

The former Columbia graduate students' whereabouts are unknown.

His wife is eight months pregnant.
