Hi, I'm Amy Govyn from Democracy Now News.

Thank you so much for making the COP presidency available to the press.

Many journalists and climate activists have been arrested here in Azerbaijan in the lead

up to the cop. My question is, will they, among many other, arrests in this lead up to the

cop, be freed? We'll bring you the response of Azerbaijan's deputy foreign minister, who is also COP 29 lead negotiator.

And we'll speak with the acting editor of the independent media outlet Absas here in Azerbaijan.

She's in exile.

Six of her journalists were arrested in the lead-up to the summit.

But first we go to Susanna Mohammed, Colombia's Environment Minister.

She chairs Colombia's delegation here at COP 29.

We'll ask her about Colombia's decision to become the first major oil-producing nation

to join the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Coalition, and we'll ask her about Colombia's

coal embargo on Israel over Gaza.

Mohamed is a Colombian of Palestinian descent.

We'll also get her response to Trump's re-election.

It's a big call, it's a big call of progressives everywhere, that a neoliberal economics

is actually creating a bigger monster and that we have to create an alternative model that

really, really includes and improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable.
