Fear is growing last week's coup in Niger could lead to a regional military conflict.

Echoes, a block of 15 West African nations, is threatening to use force to expel Niger's

new military rulers, but Burkina Faso, Mali and Guinea have warned against any military

intervention in Niger.

In Ukraine, Russian missiles struck a residential high rise in the city of Krivyri on Monday,

killing at least six people, including a ten-year-old girl and her mother.

Dozens more were injured in the attack.

One resident said she raced to the scene of the blast after receiving a panic call from

a friend who lived nearby.

I only heard help, so we jumped into our car and drove here.
