Ukraine is now closer to NATO than ever before.

Allies reaffirmed that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance.

And agreed to remove the requirement for a membership action time.

NATO says Ukraine will someday be invited to the military alliance, but the US and its

European allies are just not saying when.

We'll get the latest on the major NATO summit in Lithuania, then to the devastating war

in Sudan.

The humanitarian crisis has intensified with over half a million people displaced, hundreds

of thousands fleeing their homes.

The capital city of Portoum has been decimated.

The infrastructure destroyed by the militia forces known as the rapid support forces.

And we'll go to Vermont, where catastrophic flooding submerge the state's capital Montpelier

and many towns.

Vermont's 13 swift water rescue teams have now performed more than 100 rescues throughout

the state and they remain extremely busy.

Additionally, five teams from Connecticut, Massachusetts and North Carolina are in state

and assisting.
