You've heard that before, right?

For passengers, it means the beginning of a substantial amount of time with very little leg room.

But for flight attendants, it means something else entirely.

They're officially on the clock and can start getting paid.

It's true.

On the vast majority of airlines, flight attendants are paid hourly. Most of those hours

come during what the industry calls flight time. That is, the time that the plane pushes back from the

gate to the time it comes to a stop at its arrival gate. The issue with that? Well, flight attendants
