We are joined by Andy Teotichuk, Dr. Andy Teotichuk.

He is a professor of medical education and psychiatrist and an expert in delirium.

Now, would you be able to introduce yourself briefly and then we can start talking about what delirium actually is?

Absolutely.

So like you say, I'm a professor.

I work at Griffith University as an academic in medical education. I'm also a psychiatrist by background. I work at the Prince Charles in Brisbane. I'm a psychiatrist specialising in older people.

And as such, I would describe myself as being a memory doctor and someone who helps people with mood difficulties as well.

As I've got a foot in two camps, education and helping people with memory difficulties, I try and bring the two together.

And my research interest is in education in regards to delirium in particular.

and just reflecting on when I was at medical school,

we hardly touched on delirium.

And that was just over 20 years ago.

And now, in my day job at the Prince Charles, we see so much delirium.
