The Christmas holiday onto the New Year allowed a several week break from thinking or engaging in these podcasts.

And as we started the New Year and began to imagine what topics seem most relevant and important to be covered,

I needed to make some significant decisions at the beginning of the year regarding some of my travel and some of the projects that will take

some significant time over the next six months. And it just dawned on me. How do we make

decisions? How do we know how to choose a path versus another? And it seemed so important, at least for me,

to have a sense of what is the North Star?

I am attempting to follow as I'm making decisions

through the rest of my life,

but particularly at the beginning of this year.

And it dawned on me.

It's very important to have a central category. And if we say

something like, I want to follow Jesus, I want his will. Indeed, I think that is the most central

North Star to all that we are and all that we do. But how do we discern the will of God for our lives?

And that has been a topic of major books, major different conferences.

And what I want to do is simply add a thought to all your other labor in this domain

to help us begin that process, especially at the beginning of the year,
