Welcome to The Dig, a podcast from Jacobin Magazine.

My name is Daniel Denver, and I'm broadcasting from Providence, Rhode Island.

This episode is a special Dig Extra. It's audio from a recent Zoom forum that I

moderated with leading defund police activists from all across the country. I moderated the

discussion in my capacity as co-chair of the new organization, Reclaim R.I., which I co-founded with a bunch of core

volunteer leaders from Rhode Island's Bernie 2020 campaign. Our goal is to politically and

economically transform our diverse, working class, and rather tiny state. This discussion, which has defund police organizers

who are just incredibly talented from all over the place,

was really stellar, and I think it's a great resource for all of you

fighting to defund the police wherever you live.
