0:19.0	How do you define unity, sameness, agreement, mutual care? I ask because the Apostle Paul spends a lot of time in the New Testament talking about unity.
0:25.6	It's a theme he cared deeply about because the early church was so disunited.
0:30.4	Jews and Gentiles frequently judged one another and separated over their differences.
0:34.8	And this was a terrible witness to the watching world.
0:37.8	You see, Rome was just as fractured as the church.
0:40.8	If the church was a unified space where different kinds of people
0:44.5	could come together, well that would be the loudest witness imaginable that Jesus
0:48.7	is in fact superior to Caesar. After all, if Jesus can unite what Rome couldn't, then his kingdom has to be far better.
0:56.3	And of course, people living in a deeply divided culture would be attracted to a church
1:01.1	precisely because it was characterized by unity, just like magnets, opposites attract.
1:06.4	But if the church was no different than Rome, who was no different than the culture around it,
1:10.4	well then the polarity would switch, and rather than magnetizing the world to it, it would
1:15.0	repel that world away.
1:17.0	Isn't the same true today?
1:19.0	We are divided over so much.
1:21.0	We argue over so many different things. The church doesn't feel much different from the culture.
1:26.0	But what if that changed? If the left and the right, black and white, rich and poor, could
1:31.0	gather in one place as brothers and sisters wouldn't that be the loudest
