Welcome to the Thinking Fellows podcast. My name is Caleb, and I'm joined by Dr. Scott Keith and Rod Rosenblot.

0:06.5

What we're doing today is a continuation of last week's episode. Right before Christmas,

0:11.4

we decided to kind of answer some listener pleas to define some of our terms that we use throughout the show.

0:20.1

You know, we get really, we know what we're talking about all the time, right?

0:23.4

And so we kind of get comfortable using the same.

0:26.4

Well, we understand each other, I guess would be a better way of putting that.

0:30.3

And so sometimes we just use the same words or phrases over and over again.

0:34.6

So hopefully he understands me.

0:37.9

And as we do that, sometimes I get emails from people saying, hey, I enjoy the show, but I felt kind of left behind in this last episode because I didn't understand.

0:46.0

You know, what's funny, so I'm going to get nostalgic here just for a minute.

0:50.9

I know we're short on time, but don't.

0:52.5

1:01.9

maybe three or four classes at junior college was probably not a great student.

1:06.6

I remember sitting in his first classes and being just blown away with the amount of information and terms that I was going to have to know for future reference.

1:19.1

And I'm not saying people should treat this podcast like a college class, but one of the things I found very helpful is I would typically in his class only write down the terms I didn't know

1:29.8

not the ones I did or had an idea of because if I already knew or had an idea I could just follow along with what he was saying and maybe make you know minor adjustments in my thinking on it but if I already had an idea it was easy but it was harder if I had never heard a term before if I had had never heard a term, that was a term I would write down,

1:47.2

and that was the term that I would go back and find an answer to or definition for,

1:53.3

and then come back to him, and if I heard it again,

1:55.9

see what my own sort of research accomplished matched what he was saying and then maybe talk to him

2:02.4

about it if it didn't.
