Mr. Josh Turner and he is the chief of constitutional policy in the Idaho's AG's office. He's been working on some pro-life legislation defending it. |

| 0:47.0 | So let's start with the beginning here. |
| 0:51.0 | Idaho has a law that is being called by some at least an abortion ban. |
| 0:55.6 | What does it do? Does it actually ban abortion? I guess would be the first question. |
| 1:00.8 | How does it limit abortion if it doesn't completely ban it? |
| 1:04.8 | And then what are some of the things that pro-choice or pro-abortion advocates are saying |
| 1:10.9 | to try to discredit it and bring legal challenges against it. |
| 1:16.0 | Yeah, so after the Dobbs decision, which was the Supreme Court's decision that overturned |
| 1:20.8 | Roe v. Wade and effectively said states have the authority to regulate |
| 1:28.8 | on the issue of abortion. There is no federal constitutional right to an abortion. |
| 1:34.6 | So it put the issue back into state control. |
| 1:40.1 | The state of Idaho had a law on the books called a trigger law that the legislator said if |
| 1:47.0 | Roe v. Wade ever gets overturned, this law will go into effect in 30 days. |
| 1:52.0 | And that trigger law is called the Defense of Life Act and it is |
| 1:56.8 | pejoratively called not just the abortion ban but the total abortion ban. And so, but it doesn't totally ban abortion. What it does is it |
| 2:07.6 | prohibits abortion except in three circumstances. The first is rape, the second is incest, and the third is it, well I should say it prohibits |
| 2:20.0 | abortion is in all circumstances except rape, incest, and then the third is life of the mother. |
