A seesaw first half completely flipped on Wednesday night at North Carolina.

The Tar Heels outscored Michigan 43 to 24, and that second half really illustrated what has

plagued Michigan through the first seven games of the season.

Ultimately, right now, Michigan men's basketball does not possess a whole lot in the way

of a margin for error.

Last season, the Wolverines had several shot makers, like in Isaiah Livers, a Sean D. Brown

Jr., a Franz Wagner.

They had Hunter Dickinson inside who was not being double-teamed or triple team because of that

shooting, and it was multi-layered against the tar heels.

First thing first, Michigan could not keep Hunter Dickinson on the floor because of foul trouble.

He picked up two in the first half, and then he picked up two on the same possession early in the

second half, basically sending him to the bench for about 10 game minutes before ultimately finishing with four points.

Now, Musa Diabate stepped up in his absence in the first half.

We saw Eli Brooks try to manufacture some offense.

Caleb Houston looked very good in the first half.

But ultimately, Michigan was not able to sustain offense. And as a result, they shot 33%

in the second half, 35% for the game. I don't think necessarily North Carolina's offense was that

far above and beyond what Michigan brought to the table throughout this game in the second half,

certainly, of course, they outscored Michigan by 19 points. But their margin for error was greater because they were hitting shots. Caleb Love,

the sophomore guard, he was hitting almost everything finishing with a game high 22 points.

Dawson Garcia, another impressive shooter. He had a couple of made threes.

They had the interior play of Armando Baycott, who didn't have to be a huge force in the game,
