What a night.

You've heard the saying, I'm sure.

You don't know what you've got till it's gone.

And I'll say you don't know just how strange a sudden change is until things flip back to what you knew before, the normal.

Listen, last season was bizarre.

It was challenging.

It was empty.

Wednesday night was full. The crowd was full. The environment was bizarre. It was challenging. It was empty. Wednesday night was full. The crowd was

full. The environment was full. The emotions were full. And Michigan, like it did so many times last

season, handled the magnitude of the situation. They compartmentalized the emotions during the

pregame banner and ring ceremony.

They overcame a big Buffalo run in the second half to ultimately go one and O against a good

Bulls team.

Other than the return of fans, here was my biggest snapback moment from the sudden change

of last season to a lot more in the way of normalcy.

There were so many things beyond basketball that last year's team had to deal with, that every team in America had to deal with.

And, hey, the pandemic is not over yet.

But in the vacuum of basketball, the snapback was that it was such a treat to take

in a game without the very necessary context of last season.

No fake noise.

No cardboard cutouts.

People in every seat.
