You'll hear Kim Barnes-Riko talk about momentum here today. There is plenty of momentum to go around

within both Michigan basketball programs. On the men's side, of course, it's about the seemingly

flawless transfer from one successful era to another. On the women's side, we've all witnessed this

steady climb, one that experienced its biggest peak to date in the NCAA tournament this past

March.

The challenge now is to maintain that momentum.

Heck, it's to increase that momentum.

That is a prerequisite for this program if Michigan women's basketball is to ultimately

down the road describe 2021 as a checkpoint and not a peak, not the ultimate destination of this climb.

There is, of course, a massive difference between the biggest peak to a certain point and just the peak, the top.

The future will determine that for this Michigan women's basketball squad.

And I can tell you from the atmosphere and the

attitude around the program, the potential to make 2021 just part of that continuing climb, that

continuing ascension is real. It feels very possible. And a big piece of that is the staff

that is now here under Kim Barnes-RICO.

Now make no mistake about this.
