For two hours, things felt somewhat normal.

Of course, Chrysler Center was empty.

Masks and hand sanitizer were everywhere,

certainly a lot more commonly than they were in previous seasons.

And the season was opening the day before Thanksgiving.

But as we've heard from countless coaches and players,

since sports have resumed post-quarantine,

once the game gets going, you lock in.

It feels normal.

Fans are watching.

Fans are cheering.

Everyone's invested in the game.

The surroundings, the ambiance, all different.

But the biggest takeaway for me from Wednesday's 9682 victory over Bowling Green is this.

Man, I missed Michigan basketball.

And what these players, coaches, and support staff members have done to get to this point,

nothing short of remarkable.

And of course, nothing beyond this game is guaranteed.

You can't let your guard down.

You have to stay locked in on socially distancing, on wearing a mask, on doing the little things to allow yourself to get

to that next game. You hear it all the time. We take it one day at a time, one game at a time.
