This one will sting for a while, not just because of how it ended, but also the ramifications of this game.

Michigan had an opportunity to beat Oklahoma, an undefeated team who will go into a big 12 that presents a ton of quad one opportunities, meaning likely Oklahoma's net will stay to a point where this would have been a quad one win come

selection Sunday. So yeah, the immediate shock of a three-point lead to a turnover, to a four-point

play, to a miss shot, to the buzzer sounding, that has long-term ramifications, just the shock of it.

But also what it does for a Michigan resume,

that, yeah, possesses some pretty challenging non-conference games, but not a marquee win,

a jewel to showcase come selection Sunday in the non-conference. Michigan will get credit for

the strength of schedule, but they didn't fully take advantage of the non-conference

because they were unable to beat a team like Oklahoma or Arkansas back eight days ago at Madison

Square Garden. And what's so frustrating about this one for Michigan in terms of now the near term,

where they have to go from here, was that the two things that people talked about

the most surrounding Michigan basketball and their struggles, the things that they weren't

doing well, and there weren't a ton of them, and still aren't through 11 games this season.

But turnovers, Michigan had just 10, and then defensive rebounding.

Michigan limited Oklahoma to 11 offensive rebounds.

There were 17 second chance points.

There certainly were a few of those costly down the stretch,

but not nearly as emphatic, as relevant as what we saw at times against Arkansas

and in some other games this season.

That will still be a topic.
