Michigan assistant Justin Joyner, who had the scout of the Hawkeyes on Saturday,

had an interesting quote during Friday's media availability.

The information that Michigan had to take in the final moments of Saturday's narrow victory over Iowa

were pretty indicative of where this team is

and what makes this team so fascinating at 8 and 1 through 9 games.

You see, Iowa was in almost a carbon copy situation from Tuesday night.

Iowa stunned Northwestern at the buzzer with 0.8 seconds left, and inbound from Brock Harding to

Josh Dix for a three, Iowa one by one. After the Roddy Gale Drive and two-point basket

counted on the goaltend, Michigan had to get a stop, up 85 to 83, Iowa with a timeout, brought

the ball across the timeline, had a little bit more

than a second left, and they switched things up. They use a different imbounder in this situation.

They had a different shooter. The pass was different. So Michigan had a chance to look at how

Iowa would handle that type of a situation. And the Hawkeyes, understandably so.

You mix things up.

You have different calls and sets.

And there was a little bit more time in this case than what there was on Tuesday,

which is 0.8 seconds left.

But Michigan took in the information, adapted, switched, and got the stop.

Price Sanford's shot, pretty good shot considering the circumstances,
