For a decade now, 1989 national champion Terry Mills has been a part of Michigan men's basketball broadcasts.

He did an incredible job with Matt Shepard for so long, and then he's been really a linchpin in acclimating me into this role as now I get ready for my sixth season.

Terry is such a Michigan man.

He represents the program, the athletic department,

the university so well. No doubt, he is recognized on every single road trip we go on, and he is

as welcoming, as patient, as friendly, as go blue as you'll want from one of the representatives of your

program.

So, Terry, writing for a unique challenge as I am as every one around the program is,

of a coaching change, coming off a really tough season.

And obviously, a lot of anticipation, a lot of excitement.

So we talked about it with Terry Mills here this week on Defend the Block.

Terry and I attended a practice middle of last week.

Similar to a lot of workouts and practices here since Dusty May took over,

not everybody was suiting up because whether it's a bump or a bruise or quick little sickness

or during the summer, trying to get all the academic stuff straightened

away for transfers or incoming freshmen, whatever it might be.

Not a full all-hands-on-deck type of a practice, but every head coach has a different style

practice, some different things that they do versus others.

And it was Terry's first opportunity to see a dusty May-led practice.

So wanted to share some of his thoughts.
