Michigan men's basketball finished its summer workouts this past Friday, capping a whirlwind

stretch for pretty much everyone involved with the program. Now, a couple of weeks for a brief

respite, a reset before fall semester starts, and then the real surge of the season begins.

Now, of course, many of those people were not involved with this program the last time

the Mays and Blue took the floor on a mid-March Wednesday night in Minneapolis. There are

plenty of ways to sum up how quickly and how unexpectedly things can and do change in a college

basketball offseason these days, especially when there is a change of the head coach.

Here's Michigan's.

On March 19th, Michigan was without a head coach, of course.

Dusty May and Florida Atlantic, they had not yet departed Boca Raton for Brooklyn and their NCAA

tournament matchup with Northwestern.

And Justin Pippin was uncommitted as a high school senior with a final list that

included schools like Texas A&M, California, Stanford, Florida, and not Michigan.

One month later, April 19th, Dusty May was, as we've heard, hitting the ground sprinting as the

became the first player to officially publicly commit to the program with Dusty leading the way.

Now, the change that is inevitable in a lot of stages of basketball, that fits into Pippin's career,

the Pippin family, and that helped his recruiting rankings really sore late in the process.

Justin learned from a junior year with little playing time at Loaded Sierra Canyon, and that
