Due to the hiring of Dusty May and the rounding out of the coaching staff and the building of the roster, in essence from scratch, the discussions among Michigan fans regarding the type of team that the Wolverines will have and how they'll play have been pretty wide reaching.

Certainly there are some aspects that are a bit easier to predict than others and some impact players that are easier to identify than others just on paper.

But truly, there is so much

unknown, not just externally right now, but internally. We are less than a week away from

Dusty May's first practice as the head coach of Michigan men's basketball. The Wolverines

will get some time together over the summer, as per usual, not nearly as much in terms of

our allotment as they will have in the weeks leading up to the season, as per usual, not nearly as much in terms of our allotment as they will have

in the weeks leading up to the season.

But this upcoming stretch, no doubt, is critical for so many reasons, maybe the most

relevant being simply determining what type of team this will be and how they will come

together and play.

Dusty May has been steadfast since arriving in his public comments that success is desired

and expected in year one.

Matt Norlander of CBS Sports last week told us that Michigan's roster transformation has put

them in a position to be ranked to start next year, at least in his eyes.

So we certainly have an idea of what Michigan can and wants to accomplish in 2024, 2025.

But as for the how, well, Dusty May has crafted a vision since he arrived,

and really he has crafted a vision for winning in college basketball long before that as he's climbed the ranks.

But the how and the implementation of the how that truly starts next week.
