As you would imagine, every minute has been precious for new head coach Dusty May since taking over Michigan men's basketball less than two months ago.

Last week, I discussed his intentional nature, which, when added to a story that our guest today will tell us,

shows that Dusty Mays making alumni relations and interactions an important part of his tenure here. Spike Albrecht received a

phone call from Coach May shortly after his hiring, and I'll let Spike tell you everything from there.

But so often, during this early stage of his time in Ann Arbor, May has been eager to discuss

and to talk about how impressed he's been with the passion from the fan base,

from the school alumni base, and from the program alumni base here for Michigan

men's basketball.

By making such a point to call Spike and others who played for the Mays and Blue so early

in the game needing to acquire a new staff to solidify a roster that was

very fluid at that point, all of it shows that Dusty is operating with alumni relations as

a two-way street. Don't rest on the reality that the passion is there, but further it, expand it,

be a catalyst for it.

Because, as we'll discuss, Spike knows Michigan men's basketball at the peak of its powers

playing on a Monday night in April, and he knows Michigan men's basketball in a low-standard

season like that 16 and 16 campaign when Spike was a junior in 2014, 2015.
