Despite the tough season to this point, and no matter where this campaign goes from here,

January 15th, 2024 will forever be a pretty monumental day in Michigan men's basketball history.

Not only was it a win over Ohio State to snap a five-game losing streak, but it was also

Martin Luther King Jr. Day, something that Michigan

has celebrated so well here in recent seasons to honor the life and legacy of such an iconic

figure. Then you throw in the fact that the Fab Five returned and was together at that game.

Other than Joanne Howard, the other four were sitting there across from the Michigan bench,

cheering on their teammate, cheering on their close friend, their brother,

when Michigan needed a victory.

And Jalen, Chris, Ray, and Jimmy got to celebrate with Joanne after the game with hugs,

with laughs, with pictures, and with a memory that will last a long, long time.

It is a special moment.

It should not be minimized at all.

But to transition, this Michigan program, as it stands right now, is in the midst of a

challenging season. The Wolverines, they got to two and four in Big Ten play, just seven and ten

overall. The goal is to make this moment, this game, this win, not be the biggest moment of the

season. And it's going to take a lot of work.

Michigan has a great deal of climbing to do in the league standings, of improvement to do

in order to have the type of success that would be needed to erase this memory as the number

one of the season.

There is no denying that this is a big one,

and it should be revered and appreciated and cherished in this program's history.
