Jackson Shelstad's triple and overtime will earn the headlines.

It'll be the moment replay days and weeks from now.

It was the game winner.

But it's never just one thing in college basketball.

So much led up to that moment, so much allowed that moment to potentially be the deciding one.

And then Shelstad hit a shot, a long range, gutty shot to win the ballgame.

But in a contest with 10 ties, nine lead changes with neither team ever leading by more than two possessions.

The winning team was always going to have a lot of moments to look back at and improve upon after a film study,

while the losing team was going to reflect and be really irked by a bunch of moments.

They got away from them.

And unfortunately, the latter of those two teams, Michigan.

From the high-profile game on the line moments, the rare Doug McDaniel blemish during his

career high 33-point brilliant performance when he turned it over at a tied game at the end of regulation

to a one-for-three free throw performance in the final 30 seconds of regulation from Olivier

Comwa to a few defensive lapses in Oregon's 13-point overtime. Of course, those stand out.

There were plenty of other sequences that had they taken place in crunch time, Michigan players,

coaches, fans would have been wondering what could have been. Oregon's put back to end the first

half, Brennan Rigsby's 8-0 personal run for the Ducks in the second half. There are others. And you see

them in the box score, 16 turnovers, 44 points allowed in the paint, another sub-70% free-throw

shooting performance, the team sixth in a row.

This loss was different from the two that the Wolverine suffered in Atlantis and, I think,

the home defeat to Long Beach State, because Michigan didn't have an extended stretch of bad play.
