How many times over the last few days here on this holiday weekend or maybe this month did you sit

there and think or did you mention to a friend or a family member?

Wow, it's surprising how quickly the football season has gone.

The game is almost upon us.

The regular season is about to be over.

Time flies and we are constantly surprised by it, yet it's one of the most

consistent things in our lives. Well, for Michigan men's basketball, after the loss to Texas

Tech on Friday in the battle for Atlanta's fifth place game, the Wolverines are staring down

the quarter pole of the regular season. Late in the game at Oregon coming up in eight days,

Michigan will indeed be 25% through the season.

And that means that, yes, the Michigan basketball season,

like all the seasons in the past, is going by quickly.

And why I think that's really tough for this team to think about

and handle coming off of that 16-point loss to Texas Tech is the fact that Michigan has played seven games this year.

They played three games in three days.

Yet some of the same issues that have popped up in every loss to this point, they've been consistent.

And every game here in the Bahamas, Michigan has gotten

off to a slow start. In the first half against Memphis, they trailed by as many as 14. In the first

half against Stanford, they trailed by yes, as many as 14. And in this first half against

Texas Tech, the Wolverines were down 14 at the break, and their deficit had swelled as high as 16.

Second half, the Wolverines never got it closer than double figures.

They lost it by 16.
