Elise Ducks' journey to this point. The lead-up to her senior season of college basketball has not always been smooth.

She is the all-time leading scorer in Charlevoix High School history, yet her final season with the program really had two stops to it.

One, early on for an injury that cost her all but five games, but there should have been more games for her.

Ultimately, the pandemic ended her season for good and her career for good in March of 2020. Obviously, that's some

significant sports-related adversity to overcome, but there was quite an opportunity ahead for her,

a scholarship to play at the University of Michigan, her favorite school, her favorite

program since childhood. Of course, anyone who puts up the type of production, Stuck did in high school,

wants to play right away, but Stuck has had to and has been willing to stay patient for much of

her three-year career. As a freshman, she played just 70 minutes. As a sophomore, a bit of a boost,

171 minutes she appeared in 26 games in total. Last year, though, for the first time, Stuck was

consistently in the rotation. She played every game and averaged 10 minutes tonight. Certainly

wasn't easy, as she'll talk about here in a little bit,

but all of that struggle, all of that patience built up to her finest moment in a Michigan uniform

to this point. An 11.5 of 5-5 shooting effort in the Wolverines narrow win over Penn State

March 2nd in their Big 10 tournament opener. Stuck was a difference maker, maybe the biggest difference

in a narrow postseason victory. So the question is, how will she use that performance

and all the other ones she's had in her first three seasons in the maze and blue to set

herself up for a senior season where it certainly feels like she will be critical to the team's success pretty regularly.

Obviously, time will tell on this, but with how things have played out in her career,

all you can really hope for is one thing, a full chance to do it.

She's seemingly done all the right things at this point, waited her turn, put in the work, been a leader in the locker room.

Now it's time for her to put it all out there and see if she can make a name for herself
