But first, a reaction to the NBA draft from Thursday night, which once again proved to be a great

day for the Michigan men's basketball program.

Two of the top 15 players overall and the top two players selected from the Big

10 were Michigan Wolverines. Jet Howard, the Orlando Magic at number 11. Kobe Buffkin heard

his name four picks later at 15th by the Atlanta Hawks. The emotions are amazing to watch,

whether you've followed the player like a Jet Howard, like a Kobe

Bufkin, or you've never heard of the player. Still, you know, the draft itself is pretty quick

moving as a television production. If you're watching, it's a consistent routine, right?

Adam Silver, the commissioner announces the pick. The studio crew shares some highlights and some

analysis. Then there's that quick interview with the player and a couple of people important

to them. And then on to the next. So much, though, goes into that, what, three to four

minute stretch where that player is talked about. The journey is discussed, is remembered, and that journey is long, and it is very much

not guaranteed for this type of ending.

I mean, if you're a top 15 pick, that's the rarest of the rare, especially for these two

Wolverines turned NBA first rounders.

It is easy now to have seen the ending and feel like it was expected or likely.

But if you take a little bit of a trip back for guys like Jed Howard for Kobe Buffkin,

it is far from that easy.
